WatchOtaku : Quickset

Definition

Quickset refers to the ability to set the day or date from a separate crown position. Older watches sometimes required that they be set by repeatedly moving the time between ten pm and two AM; tiresome and really puts the wear on the mechanism. Quickset added separate gearing and levers to set them directly, and is now nearly ubiquitous.

As an example, the ETA 2836 has quickset day and date from the second crown position.
